An 11 ft Yamaha WaveRunner from the Recreation series, fitted with the padded Cruiser seat, a factory sound system and RiDE controls on the grips.
The Yamaha VX Cruiser sits in the Recreation series of WaveRunners and adds a softer Cruiser seat and a sound system to the VX hull. It fits a pair who want comfort and music on the water, someone getting back on a watercraft after a few seasons away, or anyone after a relaxed hour along the shore.
The Cruiser seat is padded and stepped, so the person behind sits a touch higher. Yamaha builds in its own audio system with Bluetooth, and a 4.3-inch Connext display shows ride information at the helm. RiDE puts throttle and reverse on the handlebar grips, Reverse Assist helps when backing up, and Cruise Assist with No Wake Mode holds an even pace in slow zones. A glovebox has USB and 12 V outlets, and the engine is a three-cylinder TR-1 High Output of 1,049 cc.
Thirty minutes is time to pair a phone and learn the RiDE levers; a full hour lets two riders cruise with a playlist going. For a set course, choose a guided hour or two. The VX Cruiser costs $90 per half hour, $150 per hour, $160 with a guide for an hour and $300 for two guided hours.
On the same Recreation hull, the Cruiser brings a softer, padded seat and a factory Yamaha audio system with Bluetooth. It keeps the TR-1 High Output engine, RiDE controls and the Connext display of the VX range.
The driver takes the front of the stepped seat at the handlebar, and the passenger sits on the raised, padded rear section. Yamaha rates the VX Cruiser for up to three people, so two riders have room to spare.
Yes. It belongs to the Recreation series, and RiDE keeps the controls simple: throttle and reverse on the grips, Reverse Assist when backing up and No Wake Mode for slow areas. That makes it a calm pick for a first ride.
