Jet Ski Rental in Fort Lauderdale, Priced per Jet Ski for Up to 2 People

Jet ski rental in Fort Lauderdale, FL starts at $90 for 30 minutes and $150 for 1 hour, per jet ski, for up to 2 people. Fuel, life jackets and tax are in the price. Send your date and group size, and an advisor confirms the available operator, start point and final terms before you pay anything. The start point depends on your date and group, and the advisor names it before payment.

  • One price for one or two riders. The rate belongs to the jet ski, not to each person, so a couple or two friends share one price.
  • Two lengths. Take 30 minutes for a first ride, or 1 hour when you want more time on the water.
  • Terms. You reserve with a 30% payment, cancel free up to 24 hours before, and if weather stops the ride you get a new date or a refund.

Florida Rules for Renting and Riding a Jet Ski

To rent a jet ski in Florida you must be 18. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 also needs a boater safety ID card from the FWC or a temporary certificate, and every rider who will drive shows a photo ID. These are the main rules to check before the ride.

  • Age to rent: 18. Florida law (s. 327.54) bars rental companies from renting to anyone younger.
  • Age to operate: 14. Operating a jet ski starts at 14 (s. 327.39). An adult 18 or older rents. Whether a rider aged 14 to 17 may drive depends on the operator, so ask us first.
  • Boater safety ID. If you were born on or after January 1, 1988, bring an FWC boater safety ID card or a temporary certificate valid for 90 days (s. 327.395).
  • Visitors from other states. A boating course from another state can count when it meets the national NASBLA course standard.
  • Photo ID. Every rider who will drive shows a photo ID.
  • Life jacket and cut-off lanyard. A U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket is worn on the water, and the engine cut-off lanyard stays attached to the rider.
  • Daylight only. Riding is not allowed from half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise.

A violation of these rules is a noncriminal infraction, and the default fine is $100. This is a summary, not legal advice. The card, the course and the temporary certificate are explained step by step in our Florida jet ski license guide, and the official rules sit on the FWC website at myfwc.com. Get your ID sorted before the date.

Fort Lauderdale Jet Ski Rental Questions Answered

How much does it cost to rent a jet ski in Fort Lauderdale?

A jet ski in Fort Lauderdale, FL costs $90 for 30 minutes or $150 for 1 hour, per jet ski. Each one takes up to 2 people. Fuel, life jackets and sales tax are included in the price, so you do not add them on top.

Do I need a license to rent a jet ski in Florida?

It depends on your birth date. If you were born on or after January 1, 1988, you need an FWC boater safety ID card or a temporary certificate. Every rider who will drive shows a photo ID. The details are in our Florida jet ski license guide.

How old do you have to be to rent a jet ski in Florida?

You must be 18 to rent. Florida allows operating a jet ski from age 14, but whether a rider aged 14 to 17 may drive depends on the operator, so ask us and an advisor tells you before you pay.

How many people can ride on one jet ski?

Up to 2 people per jet ski, and the price is for the jet ski, not per person. A group of four rents two jet skis, so book both on the same date when you send the request.

What happens to my jet ski rental if the weather turns bad?

If weather stops the ride, you reschedule or receive a refund. For any other change, cancellation is free up to 24 hours before your time.

How do jet ski reservations work?

Answer 5 quick questions with your date and group. We reply within 15 minutes, 8 am to 10 pm. An advisor confirms, and you reserve with a 30% payment once the operator, the start point and the terms are clear.

Can I add a jet ski to a yacht rental?

Yes. A jet ski for a yacht day is $160 for 1 hour, and a yacht can take no more than 2 jet skis. Ask your advisor about delivery to the yacht and confirm availability for Broward.
