Payment, cancellation, weather and add-ons in plain words. Pick a yacht, send your date, and we hold it free.

Yacht Charter Booking Terms in Miami, Payment, Cancellation and Weather

These are the terms for every yacht chartered through Yacht Charter Advisor in Miami. You pay a 30% deposit to the yacht owner, the remaining balance at the dock, and the price already includes tax. You sign the rental agreement with the owner before you sail. Everything else is below, on one page and in one version.

  • One price, any day. The price is the same on weekdays, weekends and holidays, and there are no payment fees.
  • Tax is in, the tip is not. Sales tax is part of the price. A tip for the crew is not included and is usually 15-20%, entirely up to you.
  • 4, 6 or 8 hours. Four hours is the shortest charter. Each yacht card shows its price for all three lengths.
  • A 30% deposit. You pay it directly to the yacht owner and settle the balance at the dock on the day.
  • Any payment method. Installments are possible.
  • A free hold on your date. We hold the yacht while you decide with your group. If another guest asks for it, you have 24 hours to confirm.
  • Up to 13 people. That means 13 including the charterer, and children count.

Choose a yacht below. When you like one, send the date and a charter advisor replies within 15 minutes, any day from 8 am to 10 pm.

Terms for Add-Ons, Multi-Day Trips and Jet Skis

Add-ons, longer trips and jet skis follow the same plain logic as a day charter, with a few terms of their own. Your advisor confirms each of them for your date and group before you pay anything, so you see the final terms first.

Add-ons: catering, chef, bartender, DJ

We arrange catering, a private chef, a bartender, a DJ, a photographer, decor and transfers. Order them 48 hours ahead; they are paid separately from the yacht. Your own food and alcohol are welcome onboard. Read more on yacht rental with a chef and water toys.

Multi-day trips

As a guide, a day on a 40-60 ft yacht runs around $4,250, with the yacht and crew included. Fuel, provisions and dockage come from an advance (APA) of 30-35% of the charter, and what you do not spend is returned. A crew tip of 15-20% is not included. See overnight yacht rental and the weekly yacht rental page.

Jet skis

A jet ski costs $90 for 30 minutes or $150 for an hour, a one-hour tour is $160 and a two-hour tour is $300. One jet ski takes up to 2 people, and fuel, life jackets and tax are in the price. Prepay 30%, cancel up to 24 hours ahead, and move the date or get a refund if the weather turns. Details are on the jet ski rental page.

Booking Terms Questions Answered

How much deposit do I pay to book a Miami yacht charter?

The deposit is 30% of the charter price, paid directly to the yacht owner. You pay the remaining balance at the dock on the day of your charter. You can pay by any method, with no payment fees, and installments are possible.

Can I cancel a yacht charter for free?

Yes, up to 24 hours before departure you can cancel or reschedule for free, and your advisor agrees a new date with you. If you cancel later than that, the deposit is not returned. Ask us about your yacht before you pay.

What happens if it rains on my charter day?

The captain decides. With a rain chance of 80% or more, or wind of 25 mph or more, you get any free date at no extra cost, or a refund if none fits. Light rain and clouds are not a reason to move the charter.

Is tax included in the yacht rental price?

Yes. Sales tax is part of every price on the site, there are no payment fees, and the price is the same on any day. The only extra is a tip for the crew, which is up to you and is usually 15-20%.

How long can you hold a yacht for me?

We hold your date for free while you decide. If another guest asks for the same yacht, you have 24 hours to confirm. Send your date through the 5 quick questions and an advisor replies within 15 minutes.

Who do I sign the rental agreement with?

With the yacht owner, before you sail. Your deposit also goes directly to the owner, and the yacht's insurance is held by the owner. We are charter advisors: we find the yacht, check the date and guide you through the booking.

Do I tip the yacht crew in Miami?

A tip is not included in the price. Guests usually leave 15-20% of the charter at the end of the trip, and it is entirely your choice. The same goes for a multi-day yacht charter.

Can I switch to a different yacht after booking?

No, a booked yacht cannot be swapped. If you prefer another one, you book it new, so use the free hold on your date to compare yachts first. If your yacht breaks down, you get a new date or a full refund.
